Custom drawer for an awkward gap
A custom, push-to-open storage drawer, with a stainless steel facade

When my client replaced her old built-in stove with a new Wolf, it left an awkward 6-inch gap underneath. The installers suggested covering it with a plain board, but I saw an opportunity to turn that wasted space into something useful.
I proposed a discreet push-to-open drawer with a stainless steel drawer front that would so perfectly match the stainless quality of the Wolf stove, no one would ever think it wasn't part of the original appliance package. It would provide extra storage of baking pans and muffin trays, yet because it was push-to-open, it wouldn't require a handle.
She gave me the green light.
Drawer box construction is sustainably-harvested cherry (to match her existing cherry cabinetry), with blind-dovetail joinery. Drawer front facade is 304 stainless steel with a #4 horizontal brush pattern to perfectly match the Wolf appliance. Push-to-open, soft-close drawer slides by Blum.
How do you think it turned out?
